Spring will be here soon enough, so it would probably be best to prepare your 1997-2006 Jaguar XK8 convertible for trouble free top down motoring. A simple search on the internet will yield many comments and information regarding "the Green Shower". Jaguar used a hydraulic system to operate the convertible top latching mechanism. With age, the inadequate fluid lines begin to fail, as do many of the other components of the system. At any time, you may hit that button to drop the top and within seconds you are sprayed and completely drenched with the entire contents of the hydraulic system - an awful sticky gooey GREEN hydraulic fluid. Hurry up and wash everything quickly before it creates irreversible damage and stains the leather and woodwork.
If your Jaguar still has it's original hydraulic lines it may be a good idea to give us a call and schedule to have them upgraded to our special heavy duty improved parts. Its quite an intensive job to replace all the lines, but at least you will AVOID THE AWFUL GREEN SHOWER and wont be stuck with your top down! #jaguar #automotive #repair #convertible
